Ratios are the proportions between two numbers. Ratios, and testing equivalent fractions, in the form 1/4 = 3/12.
Ratio Calculator Formulas
Enter A ,B to find C, D set, Result will C= A*2 and D =B*2.
Enter A, B and C to find D, Result D = C * (B/A)
Enter A, B and D to find C, Result C = D * (A/B)
For example, When A = 2, B=3
- Since you left out values for both C and D, there are an infinite number of possible answers. This calculator automatically multiplies the values of A and B by two for the answer. The work for this is: 2 * 2 = 4 and 3 * 2 = 6.
- Put the first result in the first empty spot and the second result in the second empty spot. You now have an equivalent ratio.
For example, When A = 2, B=3, D = 9
- First, arrange the ratios in their fractional form as shown at the very start of the work shown.
- Next, cross-multiply the two fractions. After performing that step, you know 2(9) = 3(x).
- Afterwards, perform the actual calculations on both sides: 2(9) = 18 and 3(x) = 3x.
- Finally, divide both sides by 3: 18/3 = 6 and 3x/3 = x.
- The equation is now 6 = x. This is your answer.
